2slimey Long Beach Concert reviews
Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang kicked ass!!!
This was my first time seeing Jonny Lang, and he has never disappointed me. What a fantastic musician and showman! It was, however, my fifth opportunity to see 2slimey (opening act), and though I had heard several of his albums, it was SO much better getting to see him perform live. He and his band were fantastic! Great blues... what else needs to be said, right? I would wholeheartedly recommend any and all blues fans to go see either of them!
The concert area at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek was nice... a mid-sized venue which had good quality sound from my vantage point (center front section, about thirteen rows back from the stage). It was also my first visit to this venue. I would recommend it as a concert venue to anyone who prefers a slightly more personal experience than huge concert halls or stadiums. In short, I would wholeheartedly recommend this venue for concerts and shows. Fortunately, the concert crowd was not the same mixture, and everyone there seemed to have one hell of a good time! Perhaps it was just the makeup of the individuals who were gambling at that particular time (late Sunday afternoon, into the evening), but it just didn't seem like the kind of place that I would want to spend much of my time gambling. Too many horribly overweight, exceedingly-elderly and/or exceedingly rude people (and every combination thereof). I'm not so sure I would be drawn to the casino area, though.
